Posted by:  Guest  on August 26th, 2006The 106 would handle better around corners considering its alot lighter and smaller than the viper and being a swb car. Few cars steer as eagerly on the throttle without landing you in trouble, but the 106's shortness makes it easy to correct a tail slide. the combination of weight and the 120bhp engine accounts make up the cars handlning.

Posted by:  Guest  on February 6th, 2006The 106 gti is a very good handling car (one of the best handling hot hatches) with a good power to weight ratio. Some of the cars mentioned may be a little bit ambitious, but it really depends how tight the corners are. Ultimate acceleration/ speed would limit it. Oh, and it doesn't need a limited slip differential, as these are just for re-channeling power when wheels are spinning, ie have no traction. This is unlikely to happen in a car with the comparitively low amount of torque the gti has. On the subject of the viper, american cars do have sh1t handling, and they also have very bad power to capacity ratios- 450bhp out of 8 litres! Most of its underpinnings come from a truck-hardly the ideal ingredients for a sportscar!
