The shirt is cut away at the back in some way and is rigid at the front so that he can 'bend' out of it while it keeps its original shape. You can see that best when his uper half is on the chair/stool (whatever) by looking at the angle of his head and neck. It's clear that it is coming forwards from a backwards position and not straight up from under the shirt.
Great trick though
