The original story went : Those two in that car were watching their friends race. The friends didn't stop and soon you hear sirens. They then jump into the car ... you know from there.... after the crash a guy pulls up in a jeep looking vehicle and starts getting all angry at them. I think he was the owner of the land. Anyway... The guy points the camera at him and he gets even more irrate and pushes the camera away. You never do see the police though.
Rev limiter? you know how easy that is to bypass even if you do have one? It would have merely given some hard engine breaking, which can make you lose control easily.

"Ricer: An oriental car with no engine mods, a body kit, and possibly stickers. Made to look fast.
Not a ricer: An oriental car with a fully built engine, drive train, and suspension reguardless of appearance" Aha, bu then that wouldn't classify as a ricer. Anyway, downshifting from 3 to 2 is kinda weird. Maybe he wanted to be cool and rev a little.... Still a moron though.

The original video shows them doing a few drag races with their ricers and also has and extended end where the guy who pulled up in the truck , gets out and starts getting all pissed off at them. I remeber a discussion about this on an anti-ricer forum. Apparently he DID downshift from 3 to 2. Which I would find rather difficult to do by accident but hey... ricers are unpredictably stupid so what do you expect?

sounds like he accidentally downshifted and slammed the gas, the motor overrevved, the transmission caught, and the wheels locked up enough to send them off the road and into some bushes. been there and done that. got away with it myself though

yeah that makes sense 'proud' Although you hear it overrmp'd a little without anything really jamming up.(Well I didn't hear anything) Not sure what really happend.
But i'm also sure that these kind of kids don't learn it the first time. Not stereotyping but it looked like they thought it was cool "running fromt the cops" not the smartest maybe.
