Actually, America used to be home to the greatest journalist that ever lived, a man who defined ethical journalism. His name was Edward R. Murrows. He exposed Sen. John McCarthy's use of scare tactics for political gain. He reported to us the Battle of Britain in his radio series, "This is London". He even lamented the loss of ethical journalism itself. A movie has recently come out here about his attack on McCarthy; it is called "Good Night, And Good Luck," after his signature sign-off. Reading about him inspired me to bring his level of journalism ethics back. I don't care what the American people want to hear--reporters are public servants, and should act that way, by telling people not only what they want to hear, but what they NEED to hear as well. It is a waste to simply use the media as a means of making money rather than as a service to the people. By the way, in case you can't tell, I'm an idealist. Anyone who believes that America is beyond saving fromits idiot president is a fool, and a quitter. If you want to make things right, don't just complain, go out there and do something about it. That is what I intend to do. And in case American Hero decides to post, F*CK OFF. I don't need suport from a cocky little Bush-fan whose head is so far up his *ss he has to drop his pants to say hello.

The american people do not want to see "ethics" in journalism thats boring what the american people wanna see is something entertaining or else they will change the channel so don't say ur going to being ethics to jouralism because you won't get far.

I'm an American, and even I am appalled by the apparent lack of ethical journalism; that's why I'm taking Introduction to Mass Communication in college, so that I can bring said ethics back to American journalism.
