Even though the snake is defanged doesn't make it right. Pissing off a snake with a baby for a good laugh seems a little demented. You never know what the snake is capable of doing...he could suffocate by strangulation...it's never a good idea. There are better things to do with your baby than video tape him messing around with a cobra..really.

OK everybody. Stop and think. Who's dumber here? The parents of the baby or the posters of these comments?
I'll admit that my first reactions were like most people here: Shocked! But if you spend a couple of minutes trying to figure out what the h*ll is going on here, you might come to some logical conclusions, instead of reacting like the bunch of illiterate dumb ass homies you are.
1. No parent in the world would put their baby together with a snake if the snake were dangerous. The snake is obviously defanged and harmless. It's probably no more dangerous than us putting our baby on the floor with a puppy. It just looks shocking because we've never seen or ever imagined doing it. Also, snakes tend to 'hang on' after sinking their teeth in so they can pump in the venom. This snake isn't hanging on to anything, because it's got nothing to hang on with (IE: fangs).
2. Listen to the audio: Adults & kids talking and laughing. Do you really think that if the baby were being bitten to death they'd just sit there and laugh? Get real!
2. If the snake were to wrap itself around the baby's' neck, I'm sure the parents would step in. Have a close look at the last few frames, the snake's not even close to choking the baby anyway. Unfortunately, we don't get to see what happens next - do the parents step in? Does the snake let go? We don't get to find out.
3. If the parents DIDN'T do this kind of thing, do you really think it would stop a curious baby from crawling up to a wild poisonous snake in the bush? No. I'm sure they would exercise as much diligence as we would in preventing their young from being exposed to real danger.
4. Why are they doing this? Many people in the east grow up to be snake charmers. For many of them, it may be their only source of income. Getting youngsters used to snakes at an early stage is probably part of that objective. What's really dumb and irresponsible is Steve Irwin taking his infant into a crocodile pit. Unlike the people in this video, Irwin didn't exactly disable his crocks! He said his objective was the same: to raise his daughter to have no fear of crocks, but if he'd slipped and dropped his child, the crocks could have snatched the kid. Reptiles can't be trusted. You either keep a safe distance or disable the buggers.
Yeh, it's starnge stuff and it LOOKS dangerous, and the parents seem like dumb asses to us because we don't understand their culture, but what's dumber than this are parents who expose their kids to second hand smoke, don't restrain their kids properly in cars, and who push baby strollers onto the street without even looking first!

I agree. Bad idea all the way around culture or not. However I am getting tired of the lack of education or the laziness or whatever it is......does anyone know how to spell anymore? Those funky little shortened versions of words aren't that cool and they aren't any faster. And some of you people aren't even trying to spell wrong. Nothing personal, just an observation. Everything is broken.

has anyone thougth that they may have removed its fangs therefore, it would be harmless. Although there is till the choking part
concac, as I posted earlier, dumb is dumb. I don't give a damn about cultural differences, venomous snakes are universally lethal, and to allow a child this small to play with one is the epitome of stupid. Let's assume for a moment that you are right in that his parents want him to grow up to be a snake charmer, dumb as fu@k, but, ok, I'll humor you. What this is doing is teaching this child that a snake is something that you can just crawl up to and grab. WRONG! When this child does this to a snake that has not been defanged, guess what? DEAD CHILD! Oh, and I can criticize whatever, I want without regard to any outside influences whatsoever, that is what we do where I'm from. If something is stupid, I don't have to try to figure out why the offender is doing what he is doing, I have the right to call it as I see it. We have that right in America. If you have a problem with that, then that's your problem.

i dont give a s**t weva dats dere culture u dont out a f**kin king cobra wiv a 3 year old just to get a vid dat aint culture if anything its cruwlty to animals
You people are so stupid....maybe if you understand their culture, you might think differently. Maybe the baby will grow up to to become a snake charmer and that was just a ceremony. Before making judgment, make sure that you fully understand the differences between cultures. You can't just criticize something because it's different than what you normally see.
