Most firearms will shoot with the magazine (yes, it's a magazine not a clip) removed provided there is a round in the chamber. Although, with a child that small it would be equally safe to have a loaded magazine in the gun with the chamber empty as the child lacks the strength and dexterity required to charge the weapon. Even so, Guns are not Toys, but its obvious by the childs expression that daddy is just off camera and someone (probably mommy) is taking the picture. Obviously he is being supervised and isn't "playing" with it. Again, it's a magazine not a clip.

Posted by:  Guest  on February 6th, 2006You know if you look closely there isn't a clip in the rifle so it really isn't dangerous, the worst he could do is drop it on his toe or hit someone with it. Now if there was a clip of 5.56mm bullets in it that'd be dangerous.
